My name is Vicki Adang, and I have been an editor for more than 20 years, having gotten my start with daily newspapers. As owner of Mark My Words Editorial Services, I work on everything from the ubiquitous For Dummies books to children’s books written by independent authors.
I can evaluate a table of contents for content and organization; edit chapters for consistency and flow; and suggest better ways to word clunky sentences. Versed in the Chicago Manual of Style, Associated Press style, and countless house styles, I can spot a misplaced modifier at 20 paces, proofread text for pesky typos and grammatical errors, and correct comma errors with one eye tied behind my back.

When I’m not editing, I’m reading, cooking or baking, dreaming of (and maybe planning) my next getaway, volunteering, or doting on my husband or cat at our home in Indianapolis, Indiana.
